Upcoming Bid Projects

The Shreveport Airport Authority is currently managing more than 35 capital improvement projects at both Shreveport Regional Airport and Shreveport Downtown Airport. This Capital Improvement Program is valued at more than $60 million over a five-year period through federal, state and airport funds. These projects include improvements to buildings, runways, taxiways, airfield lighting, drainage and other infrastructure upgrades.

As a department of the City of Shreveport, the Airport Authority publicly advertises construction bids. The Airport actively encourages both prime contractors and subcontractors to be aware of the many opportunities to participate in becoming a vendor and to compete in these projects.

Listed below are current projects either currently out for bid or preparing to bid through the City of Shreveport’s Purchasing Department:

SHREVEPORT REGIONAL AIRPORT

Security System Enhancement - This project scope of work shall consist of enhancement of existing security network cameras, access devices, hardware and software equipment and infrastructure.

Terminal Awning and Roofing Rehabilitation - This project scope of work shall consist of renovation of entry awning steel – prep and re-coat all exposed structural members from column bases at walk level to top of structure. Entry awning roof – prep and re-coat all roof surfaces at awning entry.  Terminal building steel - prep and re-coat all exposed structural members from column bases at grade level to top of structure miscellaneous and incidental work to include removal and re-installation of all lighting systems and drainage lines.

SHREVEPORT DOWNTOWN AIRPORT

SUSLA Renovation Project – This project shall consist of renovating an existing 12,500 square feet facility previously occupied by the U.S. Army Reserve located at the Downtown Airport.  The scope of work for this project will include demolition of existing walls, renovating all of the existing offices, corridors, classrooms and work spaces into functional high technology lecture halls, a new computer lab, avionics, airframe, power plant and aerospace mechanical training labs.  This renovation will include upgrading the restrooms, the kitchen and interior and exterior ADA upgrades.  The storefront, doors, flooring and the ceiling will be replaced throughout the facility.  Additional items will include more parking, new landscaping, signage and exterior lighting.  Also, this scope will include new HVAC system and reconfiguration of existing mechanical and electrical workstations in Hangar 20.
